What this route covers
The Senior or Specialist Worker route enables multinational organisations to transfer senior managers or specialist employees to their UK operations. This is the most commonly used Global Business Mobility route.
Workers must have been employed by an overseas entity in the same group for at least 12 months immediately before the application.
Key requirements
For senior managers
Minimum salary £48,500 or the going rate, whichever is higher. Maximum stay 5 years in any 6-year period. 12 months employment with the overseas entity required. Can lead to settlement after 5 years.
For specialist workers
Minimum salary £48,500 or the going rate, whichever is higher. Maximum stay 9 years in any 10-year period. Must have specialist skills or knowledge. Can lead to settlement after 5 years.
