Editorial Policy

Our public content falls into four types, and each is held to a different standard:

• Route pages — how a specific visa or sponsorship route works, who qualifies, what it costs and how long it takes.
• Guides and articles — longer explanations of a process, a rule change or a decision a reader has to make.
• Tools — calculators and lookups (fees, salary thresholds, SOC codes, the sponsor register, continuous residence) that compute a result from data we hold and date.
• Governance pages — this policy, our complaints and disclosure pages, and our terms, which describe the practice itself rather than immigration law.

We do not publish sponsored content, paid guest posts, or pages written by third parties in exchange for links.

Immigration guidance is only as good as its source. We work from primary material first: the Immigration Rules, Home Office caseworker guidance, published fee tables, the register of licensed sponsors, tribunal decisions, and the GOV.UK pages that summarise them. Where a page reproduces or closely follows GOV.UK material, we take it from the GOV.UK content API and reproduce it under the Open Government Licence v3.0 with a source note and the date GOV.UK last updated it.

Fee and threshold figures are held in dated data sets rather than typed into prose, so a single change updates every page and every calculator that uses it. Where a figure has a known effective date, we show it.

We do not cite other law firms' marketing pages as authority for what the rules say, and we do not publish statistics — success rates, approval rates, processing averages — that we cannot attribute to a named published source.

Drafting starts from the source material for the route in question. Where we use AI tools to help draft or expand an article, they are used as a drafting aid only, working from the primary sources we supply; no page is published on the strength of a model's own knowledge of immigration law.

Before publication, an adviser at the practice checks the draft against the source material: the rule references, the figures, the timescales and the eligibility conditions. Reviewed articles carry a review credit naming the Wesbridge Associates team and the date of review, and that credit is also published in the page's structured data so it is visible to search engines and AI assistants.

Review credits are team-level. We do not attach an individual adviser's name to a page unless that adviser personally reviewed it.

UK immigration rules change frequently, and fees usually change at least once a year. We monitor the GOV.UK pages behind our route content and the published fee tables, and we re-check pages when a rule change, a fee change or a Statement of Changes affects them.

Each page shows when it was last updated or reviewed. A page that has not been revisited since a relevant change is a defect, not an editorial choice — if you spot one, please tell us using the process on our corrections page.

Nothing on this site is a substitute for advice on your own facts. Published guidance describes the general position; an application turns on the evidence in the individual case.

We sell immigration services, and our guidance pages link to those services. We keep the two separate in substance: a guide says what the rules require, including where a reader plainly does not need to instruct anyone, and it does not overstate the difficulty of a route in order to sell help with it.

We do not accept payment for favourable coverage of any organisation, and we do not take commission for referring clients to third-party providers without disclosing it. Our disclosures page sets out the commercial relationships we have.

We publish a machine-readable knowledge bundle so that AI assistants summarising UK immigration questions can use our content accurately and attribute it. It carries the same figures as the pages, with their sources and, where applicable, their review status.
